Mahmudullah sniffs century as Metro keeps Sylhet at bay

Mahmdullah Riyad came up with sterling batting yet again, hitting his third consecutive half-century as Dhaka Metro kept Sylhet Division at bay in Tier-2 game of National Cricket League (NCL) at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra on Saturday.
After making 63 in his last two innings, Mahmudullah finally sensed a century as he remained unbeaten on 95, helping Metro end the third day on 225-6. That gave Metro a total lead of 152 and much depend on the experienced batsman that how far the Metro would go in this match.
Mahmudullah who struck five fours and one six in his 194-ball knock stood tall once again amid his colleagues’ failure in the game. Alongside him Shahidul, Islam was not out on 29 and this was the next best in Metro’s innings, evidencing the fact that how much the team relied on Mahmudullah.
Imran Ali and Enamul Haque Junior grabbed two wickets apiece of Sylhet.
Sylhet was all out for 319 in their first innings, after taking a 73 runs lead over Metro who was bowled out for 246.

In another Tier-2 game of the league, Chattogram Division took 190 runs lead against Barishal Division after the third day.
Resuming the day on 104-4, Barishal was shot out for 216, conceding a 140 runs lead to Chattogram who made 356 in its first innings.
Chattogram then ended the third day on 50-1, stretching their lead to 190. Pinak Ghosh was not out on 30 with captain Mominul Haque on 9.
Earlier, left-arm spinner Nayeem Hasan Junior helped Chattogram earn a big lead, claiming 4-62. Mehedi Hasan Rana, Noman Chowdhury and Minhajul Abedin Afridi bagged two wickets apiece. No. 8 batsman Nuruzaaman was the highest scorer for Barishal with 60 while opener Rafsan Al Mahmud made 49.
