Discarded national opener Imrul Kayes said on Sunday that he is still searching why he is not a regular member of the national team despite playing international cricket for 11 years.
Imrul had been in and out of the national team during his journey since beginning his career with an ODI-Test against South Africa in 2008.
During this time frame, he had his high and lows but can certainly call himself unlucky not to get an extended amount of backing when things were not going his way at international level.

I started batting for a couple of days and it is going quite well. I am trying to learn from my past mistake and trying to rectify them,’’ Imrul told reporters at the SBNS on Sunday.
‘’The competition is very stiff so need to improve a lot to make my way into the team as there are lot of openers in the team,’’ he said.
Imrul, who last played test series against West Indies in 2018, could have been an automatic selection for the Test series against Afgastastian but missed the opportunity due to his son’s illness as he put his family first and took his son to Singapore for treatment during the just-concluded Test series against the Afghans.
‘’I could not return to the field as my son did not recover,’’ said Imrul.
I have spoken with the coach and he said that you look after your family because you will have time to play cricket later,’’ he said’
‘’Family comes first for me,’’ he added.
Imrul said he is confident of returning to Bangladesh squad and working hard to achieve his goal.
‘’I am always expecting to play for Bangladesh again and is always to play in Bangladesh team and whenever I am practicing I am always keeping an eye on my goal,’’ he said.
