Bangladesh opener Tamim  Iqbal doesn’t want the memory of 2015 World Cup to come back ever again in his career as he was trolled heavily in social media outlet following his poor performance in that event in Australia-New Zealand. At Down Under he scored just 154 runs from six matches with an average of just 25.66 runs, prompting the critics lash out at him vigorously.

In this World Cup his performance is also not up to the mark after he scored at an average of 19.66 runs in first three matches. So, this year people have also started talking about him negatively in social media.

Tamim expressed his feelings about these trolls in an interview with Kalerkontho and revealed that he doesn’t know much about trolls now, as he refrains himself from using social media.

“I am trying so hard to get away from all that. However, I don’t browse social media so much. Even if my family knows, I am sure they won’t tell me. But I hope, something like that is not happening,” he said.

People used to talk about his usefulness in the team but still he was trolled and criticized from the gallery for bad performance on the pitch. And this had a devastating impact on his friends and family.

“Everyone isn’t the same. Someone can handle this, someone can’t. I have a fear back of my mind, that you won’t understand. The things that happened in the last World Cup, no one will understand how these affected my wife and my family a lot.  No one from the 16 crore people will understand.  I don’t want those days to be back,” Tamim said.

With 2015 World cup is still fresh on Tamim’s mind, he said it still haunts him like a bad dream. But the opener is sure that good time will come and he believes he can shrug off his patchy form in this World Cup.

“I don’t want to go back to those days either.  I came to England with the hope that this time I will see the opposite side of that.  I have seen the bad side before, now I want to see the good part.  But I am not losing my hopes, still, there is a lot of time,” he said.

Tamim changed himself completely after the 2015 World Cup. He rose to another level after that World Cup. Before April 2015 Tamim averaged 31.02 in three formats and after two years he improved this average to 45.87.

Before 2015 World Cup Tamim had only 10 centuries in three formats under his belt and now he has 21 centuries to show.
