Bangladesh received another injury scare ahead of World Cup as Mahmudullah received shoulder injury that will require operation if it is not healed with conservative treatment.
Mahmudullah, who had sustained the injury on his right shoulder four months back, aggravated it during the just concluded New Zealand tour while diving during a match on two occasions as it twinge the injured portion.
BCB as a result went for an MRI in New Zealand and received the MRI report on Monday that suggested he had sustained grade-3 tear and later advised him to take full rest for the next 15 days.

‘’We received the MRI report of Mahmudullah today and it reveals he had grade-3 tear. BCB medical team have recommended him rest for 15 days and later we will start his rehabilitation following a conservative treatment process. If that fails to heal him than we might need operation,’’ BCB sources confirmed cricfrenzy on Monday.
‘’He can do his fitness training but we advised that he should not have any session that can force him to take some kind of a load. This injury is quite similar to the one that Mustafizur received but in most cases it become a major concern for pace bowlers. So we are hoping that he will recover with the conservative treatment,’’ he said.
Mustafizur had to undergo a surgery for his SLAP (Superior Labrum from Anterior to Posterior) tear and was later ruled out for next six months.
Mahmudullah seemed quite confused with his injury which involves treatment for the ring of cartilage that surrounds the socket of the shoulder joint, and was certainly taking nothing for granted more so after learning that his injury is quite similar the one of Mustafizur.
‘’I am not well,’’ he said in a disgusted tone after coming out from the physician’s room where he was informed about his condition in detail.
‘’The injury is quite similar to the one that Mustafizur had so it might need an operation if it is not healed properly,’’ he said without elaborating that surely reflected that he is quite uncertain about his future as an operation might rule him out for a long period of time from competitive cricket.
Bangladesh will be eyeing to have Mahmudullah at his best considering he is one of the most consistent performer in the last World Cup where he hit two centuries while he also scored a century in the Champions Trophy.
