Comilla Victorians opener Tamim Iqbal believes that his maiden T20 hundred in Bangladesh Premier League is satisfying as he could execute his plan to perfection.
Tamim Iqbal struck a majestic unbeaten 141 off 61 balls to help Victorians clinch the BPL title as they defeated Dhaka Dynamites by 17 runs in the final Sher-e Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.
Tamim, who made his maiden appearance in BPL final, smashed 10 fours and 11 sixes and was his marauding century that looked to be the key behind their success as they posted massive 199 for three in the final after which their bowlers survived from Dhaka top order’s assault to help the side restrict them to 182 for nine.
Tamim, who is arguably one of the best batsmen of the country, came up with such kind of a blazing knock after a long time that once was looked upon as the trade mark of his batting.

In the recent past, Tamim had transformed his batting to great extent largely due to the fact his role in the national team changed with time as he is now more inclined in settling in before taking his chances unlike the past when he would start whacking from the start of the play.
’To be honest, I feel I am still dreaming. I still don’t know how I batted. I think I can explain better after I see the highlights. At one stage I got very pissed when Bijoy got out. I had to calm myself down and start again. I am sure that when I see the highlights, I can say it better,’’ an elated Tamim told reporters when he was asked to analyze his batting.
‘’I honestly never thought I’d play such a knock but I think I planned it really nicely,’’ said Tamim.
‘’I didn’t want to give a wicket to Shakib and Narine, who were Dhaka’s most successful bowlers. I hardly took any risk against Narine apart from one six. It was an unbelievably good wicket so I backed myself against the pacers,’’ he said.
‘’ I started hitting from Rubel’s over. When I was feeling good, I thought this has to go. I normally pick Russell well, but it was probably my day. Even the ones I didn’t connect still went for six,’’ he said.
His change in gear was clinical and it clearly reflected that he can still make any bowling unit pay on his day and still possess the hitting ability that earlier made him the game changer both at international and domestic circuit.
His maturity was note worthy as he did not lose his mind despite scoring only 24 runs in the opening 20 deliveries before he started to come out the shackle by scoring his fifty from 31 balls and since then it was all Tamim’s show.
Tamim scored the next 53 runs in 19 deliveries while the rest his history that included two sixes and as many fours against one over from Rubel Hossain and one from Andre Russel.
