The Bangladesh Premier League’s Chittagong-phase began with 43-minute power disruption during the opening game between Rajshahi Kings and Sylhet Sixers at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Friday.

Though BCB managed to take everything under control within the time frame there were no internet available at the press box neither the electronic scorecard was active while the electronic billboard also remained out of order.

Though through generator electricity was available in the press box it never looked to consistent and coupled by internet disruption the second biggest franchise-based Twenty20 league could not covered ball-by ball through the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

‘’There was problem in the Switch Gear but there was no problem with the transformer,’’ BCB venue manager Abdul Baten told reporters,

‘’From the PDB electricity is passed in our venue through that gear and it went out of order we asked PDB to supply it directly through some  other phase,’’ he added. ‘’It will be repaired tomorrow,’’ he added.

ZACS venue manager Fazle Bari told reporters that like there was electricity in the press it was the same case in the umpires so that they can take decision if required.

‘We had provided electricity in the umpires room so that they can work without any disturbance all through the match,’’ he said.
