The decision was taken during a CCDM meeting on Wednesday in this regard as the game had to be called off in the 9th over of the Dhanmondi Progoti Sangha innings after the team refused to play protesting an umpiring decision.

According to a press release of BCB emailed on late Wednesday it was stated that CCDM after reviewing the incident was unanimous in its observation that the aggressive and threatening nature of protests by Dhanmondi Progoti Sangha and the club’s eventual refusal to play were against the spirit of the game.

‘’After taking into consideration the Match Referee’s report and all relevant factors, the CCDM has taken the above mentioned disciplinary measures against Dhanmondi Progoti Sangha which will come into immediate effect,’’ BCB was quoted in the email.

Earlier, Progoti Sangha, a Dhaka second division cricket team officially lodged a complaint letter to CCDM to take action against partial umpiring and asked them for a rematch of their fourth-round match against Azim Cricket Club.
