Mohammad Mithun and Mushfiqur Rahim were pivotal in steering the team out of danger on two occasions in the recently-concluded Asia Cup. However, while Mushfiqur earned the tag of a hero, Mithun was more of a ‘side hero’ due to his inability to stay at the crease till the end.
Mithun is now determined to be promoted to the main role by finishing the game positively on crunch situations once he gets the opportunity.

“Yes, of course, I could not finish the way Mushfiq had finished. I got out in the middle. If it happens next time, I will definitely try to finish it. If I could finish it from that place, then I would have come to the main role. It is important,” he said.
Being around the national team for more than four years, Mithun finally sealed a spot in the setup and has the chance to tighten his grip on that spot in a relatively easy home-series against Zimbabwe. Nevertheless, there will be pressure on the 28-year-old and the rest of the squad to perform in absence of two of their star cricketers, Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal.
The ODI series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will be held between 21 and 26 October.
