Left-handed batsman Nazmul Hossain is eager to make his presence if he gets the opportunity to play against Afghanistan.
Nazmul is the major contender to fill in the shoes for Tamim, who was ruled out of the Asia Cup due to sustaining a fracture.
According to insiders, he is expected to open alongside Liton Das while the remaining line-up will remain the same that played the opening game against Sri Lanka, which the Tigers won by massive 137 runs.
During an interview with a local TV station, Nazmul stated that seniors are pumping him up for their game against Afghanistan.

“Seniors are always supporting me and boosting me up.
“They are telling me that if I am playing I will be able to do well here,“ he said adding that they [seniors] asked him not to change his game plan.
“They wanted me to play my natural game and so I am not thinking anything negatively.
“If I get the chance I will try to leave a mark,” he added.
If everything goes as per their plan A, Nazmul, who remained under the national selectors' radar since 2017, is expected to make his ODI debut against Afghanistan.
Nazmul played one Test for Bangladesh against New Zealand at Christchurch in January 2017, since his international debut.
Team management confirmed that there was a bit of a concern with Mushfiqur Rahim’s rib sprain but with proper rest and conditioning he is expected to be available against Afghanistan.
Nazmul, who hailed from Rajshahi, had done well consistently in the domestic circuit and in all likelihood is expected to make his performance count at the international level.
