The National Cricket League (NCL) T20 will now be entirely hosted in Sylhet, utilizing the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium (SICS) and Sylhet Outer Stadium.
This change comes as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had to revise its original plan of staging the play-off matches at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS).
A BCB official explained that the play-offs were relocated to Sylhet because the SBNCS will be needed for a concert to mark the opening of the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
"The entire NCL T20 tournament will now take place in Sylhet. The Bangladesh Army Stadium is booked for the BPL opening concert on December 23, so the play-off matches had to be shifted," the official told Cricfrenzy.
In the revised schedule, both Sylhet venues will host two matches daily. After every two rounds up to round four, there will be a one-day break, but the final three rounds will be played consecutively without breaks.
The eight-team NCL T20 is set to start on December 11, with the final scheduled for December 24. The tournament will be followed by the 11th edition of the BPL, which kicks off on December 30.
