Bangladesh opener batter Imrul Kayes retired from the Test and first-class cricket as he announced it via a video on his social media account.
‘Ending my Test Career, Thank you, to all my fans for showing their love and support always!’ Imrul wrote the statement with a video.
Kayes said in his video that he will continue playing in ODI and T20 formats despite stepping away from other formats.
The experienced cricketer will represent Khulna Tigers in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), which begins in December.
In his international Test career, Imrul played 39 matches, scoring 1,797 runs at an average of 24.28, including three centuries and four fifties. In first-class cricket, he has an impressive record with 7,930 runs in 137 matches.
Imrul last played his international Test against India in 2019.
