Salahuddin vows to work with head coach’s method

Mohammad Salahuddin has taken on the role of senior assistant coach for the Bangladesh cricket team as his primary responsibility will be to facilitate smooth communication between the players and foreign coaches, enabling the players to better address and overcome their challenges.
While the head coach's decisions are final in the national team, Salahuddin aims to work in position with interim head coach Phil Simmons’ philosophy. At the same time, he emphasizes the importance of players’ comfort and confidence.
Drawing from his extensive experience in domestic cricket, Salahuddin knows the Bangladeshi players well, and the players themselves feel comfortable working with him. He is enthusiastic about bringing this familiarity and insight to his new role.
"Since I am the assistant coach and we have a head coach here, my role is to support his approach and assist the players as much as I can. My role might be different from what it was previously" Salahuddin said to media on Sunday.
“I will try to help our players build more confidence and ensure that the communication between them and the foreign coaches improves.”
Salahuddin will officially begin his duties with the upcoming West Indies tour. However, he has already started working individually with national team players. Fans and supporters have long advocated for his appointment to the national team, and their wish has now been fulfilled.
Salahuddin expressed his gratitude, saying, “The excitement is definitely there. I will do my best to meet the expectations of those who love and support me, it feels like a moral responsibility to respond the love I’ve seen recently.”
