South Africa team and Bangladesh new head coach land together in Dhaka

The South African cricket team has arrived in Dhaka for a two-Test series against Bangladesh, which is set to take place later this month. The Proteas, who last played a Test series in Bangladesh in 2015, touched down at around 8:40 AM.
That series saw both matches end in draws, primarily due to rain. Aside from those two, South Africa has won all 14 of the other Tests they've played against Bangladesh.
The first Test is scheduled to begin on October 21 in Dhaka, with the second match to follow in Chattogram on October 29.
While regular captain Temba Bavuma is with the squad, he will miss the first Test due to injury, with Aiden Markram stepping in as captain for that match.
Additionally, Bangladesh's new head coach, Phil Simmons, arrived on the same flight. Simmons, a former West Indies all-rounder, was appointed as coach last Saturday and will serve through to the 2025 Champions Trophy after Chandika Hathurusingha’s suspension.
