Bangladesh fast bowler Ebadot Hossain will travel to India with the remaining team and is hopeful for a comeback to cricket from a long ligament injury during the upcoming India Test series in September.

Ebadot was expected to recover from his prolonged injury before for the India series, though it remains uncertain if the right-arm pacer will be fit in time for the two-Test and three-match T20I series against India.

"It is regretful. It's been almost 13 months since I have been away from cricket. This injury took a long time to heal. Being out of the game is really tough for a player. It doesn't seem like it will take long to recover. InshAllah I will also play and try to do well," said Ebadot to the media.

Ebadot was ruled out of International cricket since the Afghanistan series in July 2023. Following that, he missed major events like the Asia Cup 2023, T20I World Cup 2024, including other International Series.

Ebadot's chances of being in the playing squad are slim as the bowler is still away from few miles to regain his full fitness. However, he hopes to get bowling support from physio, and pace bowling coach during the tour.

"I am following the program provided by my physiotherapist and trainer, as well as the pace bowling coach. The restrictions did not allow me to bowl at 100% effort. Currently, I am bowling at 70-80% effort. The plan with the Bangladesh team may take me to India," he said.

"It appears that I will receive comprehensive support for my bowling, including a doctor, physiotherapist, pace bowling coach, and trainer. I will be closely observed by the Bangladesh team. I may be taken to India to assess my fitness and determine when I am ready to return," he added.

Bangladesh, coming off a historic 2-0 clean sweep over Pakistan, will kick off their India tour with the first Test in Chennai on September 19. The second Test will be held in Kanpur from September 27.

The Test series will be followed by a three-match T20I series on October 6, 9, and 12 in Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad, respectively
