Fast bowler Ali Khan said the USA's T20I series win against Bangladesh was 'no fluke' and they are ready to make some upset in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The USA made history by winning their maiden series against Bangladesh, securing a thrilling six-run victory in the second T20I on Thursday which is also their first win over an ICC full-member nation.

With Bangladesh needing 21 off 18 balls in a chase of 144 runs, Ali had Shakib Al Hasan chop onto his stumps for a 23-ball 30 off the first of the 18th over. He wiped out Tanzim Hasan Sakib for a duck to take the game further away from Bangladesh.

Ali had to defend 12 runs in the final over. He gave away a four off the second ball to Rishad Hossain, who was batting on nine off four. Ali then had Hossain caught behind, securing a historic victory for USA by six runs.

"We [USA] are hungry, and are going to try to eat whoever comes in our way. This is a time where we can make some changes and adjust. Team looks balanced, and all the guys are hungry. I am sure USA will do some upset [in the T20 World Cup]," said Ali Khan.

"We need to put USA out there on the world cricket map. Sometimes when you win against a big side, they say oh it is a fluke. But beating them twice, back-to-back, winning the series is not a fluke. We have the talent, skills and the ability if given the opportunities," he added.
