Bangladesh’s Rangpur Riders have announced a 13-member squad for the inaugural Global Super League, consisting of 9 Bangladeshi players and 4 overseas cricketers.
Steven Taylor from the United States is also expected to join as the 14th squad member, although his inclusion is yet to be finalized.
Nurul Hasan Sohan has been appointed as captain of Rangpur Riders in the league. The team also includes key Bangladeshi players Sheikh Mehedi Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin.
Rangpur have selected Soumya Sarkar and Saif Hasan from the recent Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) draft, building a robust lineup for the Global Super League. The squad also features leg-spinning all-rounder Rishad Hossain and left-handed batsman Afif Hossain.
In the overseas lineup, Rangpur Riders have secured contracts with Caribbean all-rounder Matthew Ford, top-order Italian batter Wayne Madsen, and English pacer Jack Chappell. From the United States, they’ve added left-handed off-spinning all-rounder Harmeet Singh.
The Global Super League will run from November 26 to December 7, and five teams from five countries will participate. Alongside host team Guyana Amazon Warriors and Rangpur Riders, the tournament will feature Pakistan's Lahore Qalandars, England's Hampshire Hawks, and Australia's Victoria. Initially, BPL champions Fortune Barishal were invited to join but declined, creating an opening for Rangpur Riders.
