Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is committed to delivering the 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 with utmost excellence, supported by the Bangladesh Government as the BPL is scheduled to commence on December 30, 2024 with the final set for February 7, 2025.
BCB confirmed the updates following a board meeting, though it has yet to announce the final schedule for the upcoming BPL.
Ahead of the BPL, a players' draft was held at a prestigious hotel in the capital on October 14, where franchises built their squads by selecting players of their choice.
Due to political shifts and various complexities, this season’s BPL will not feature teams like Comilla Victorians, Duronto Dhaka, and Chattogram Challengers, which participated in the last edition.
However, several familiar franchises, including Sylhet Strikers, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders, and the current champion Fortune Barishal, will continue to participate in the tournament.
After an 11-year hiatus, Chittagong Kings, which participated in the league’s first two seasons, is set to make its return. Additionally, two new teams, Dhaka Capitals and Durbar Rajshahi, have joined the BPL this season.
The Board has also agreed in principle to introduce a full-fledged e-ticket system for the 11th edition of the BPL, aiming to streamline the ticketing process for fans.
