The third day of the second Test between Bangladesh and India has been called off as umpires expressed dissatisfaction regarding the soggy nature of the outfield at Kanpur.

Day 2 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh was washed out entirely without a single ball bowled.

Only 35 overs were played on the first day as Bangladesh managed to score 107-3 after being sent to bat first. On Friday, rain delayed the start by an hour and then bad light forced the players off the field only nine over after lunch.

Mominul Haque, on 40, and Mushfiqur Rahim, on six, are at the crease. Heavy downpour followed and the officials called stumps after just 166 minutes of play.

Bangladesh ex-captain Shakib, 37, announced his international retirement on Thursday and could be playing his last Test match if he is unable to return home for a slated South Africa series.

Bangladesh lost the first Test by a massive 280-run margin against the host at Chennai.
