The victorious Bangladesh cricket team is set to return home tonight after their historic 2-0 Test series win against Pakistan.
The Tigers, who departed Pakistan last night, will arrive in two separate groups – the first group is expected to land at 11:30pm from the UAE, while the second group will arrive at 2:00am from Qatar.
All 16 team members, except for Shakib Al Hasan, will return alongside part of the coaching staff. Shakib has left the team to head to the UK, where he will participate in a four-day County Championship match for Surrey, starting on September 9.
The remaining team members will begin their training camp under coach Chandika Hathurusingha on September 8, in preparation for two Tests and three T20Is against India later this month.
The team will depart for India on September 15, with Shakib joining them the same day. The first Test is scheduled to take place in Chennai starting September 19.
Meanwhile, pace bowling coach Andre Adams has traveled to New Zealand to be with his family and will return on September 12. Strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kiely has also taken a short leave.
