Cricket Australia's Chief Executive Nick Hockley is hopeful to host Bangladesh's men's cricket team after a long hiatus since their last tour in 2008.

Australia women’s cricket team toured Bangladesh in April, Hockley appreciated the hospitality shown by BCB. Though Australia has no scheduled series in the upcoming Future Tours Programme (FTP) cycle, Hockley expressed interest in hosting the Tigers.

The CEO expressed optimism about renewing the cricketing relationship and strengthening ties between the two nations.

"Bangladesh are certainly part of our next FTP cycle, and we're very much looking forward to hosting Bangladesh," Hockley said.

"We just enjoyed an excellent women's tour to Bangladesh ahead of the women's T20 World Cup later this year. We were very appreciative of the excellent hospitality and welcome that the women 's team received,” he said.

"As far as a men's tour [is concerned], that's not currently part of the FTP over the next few years. But we will continue to work with all the members, [and] with the Bangladesh Cricket Board about what opportunities there can be for the following FTP," he added.
