Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed believes that his side needs to do something ‘extraordinary’ to beat India in the upcoming Super-8 match of the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh suffered a 28-run defeat (D/L Method) against Australia in the first match of the Super-8 clash. It will be a do-or-die game for the Tigers when they face India in the next match for the semi-final berth.

“We need to perform exceptionally well in both batting and bowling departments if we want to qualify for the semi-final, especially against India. Because if we lose this match, then the dream of playing in the semi-final will not be there. We hope to keep the margin of error minimal for some positive outcomes,” said Taskin in the press conference.

Taskin reckoned that they need to perform collectively and deliver outstanding performance from all the departments.

“The match is very important. Both batting and bowling need to be done well because India is one of the best teams in the world. We need to do something extraordinary to beat them,” he added.

Taskin also discussed about Bangladesh's recent defeat against Australia. The pacer mentioned that the match scenario would have been different if they had bowled first and urged the batters to play with more responsibility.

“If we had bowled earlier we could have had a good opportunity to restrict them to 150-160. Batting was a bit difficult at first, but it became easier after the rain. The ball didn't come to bat the same way after the rain. There was a big difference. The wind was a factor. Length and variation are very important. The batsmen have to take more responsibility,” he added.
