Hafeez: Bangladesh can be challenging to anyone on a favorable wicket

Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez believes Bangladesh can pose a strong challenge against any team on a favourable wicket and condition in the T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh qualified for the Super-8 by securing three wins in the group stage from group D, beating bitter rival Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal and only defeat against South Africa.
Bangladesh are placed in a group with two former World Cup champions India, Australia and Afghanistan for the Super Eight which means their advancement to the semi-final will have a lean chance.
However, the former PCB director has put weight behind the Tigers stating they have a good chance to beat Australia in the Super-8 clash and he also noted Bangladesh’s bowling prowess.
“It depends on the pitch and condition they are playing. If the wicket has a bit of grip or a bit of spin, Bangladesh can challenge any team because they are playing quite well. Their spin attack is good, and the pacers are also doing well. But batting will be a challenge on that track. If the wicket is in their favor, they can challenge anyone,” said Hafeez.
Bangladesh will face Australia in their first super-8 stage match on June 21 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.
