Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto remarked that International cricket is completely different from any franchise tournament and stated it's not logical to compare International games with IPL.

Shanto believes that scoring 200-plus runs in International cricket is difficult, but it is possible in franchise tournaments and he added that International tournaments should not be compared with IPL or other franchise tournaments.

In the ongoing IPL, there have been several 200-250 innings witnessed which became a matter of concern ahead of the global event. Shanto stated that the conditions and wickets in the upcoming World Cup would favour scores between 160-180, and they are aiming to approach the tournament with this goal in mind.

“I don't think, International cricket should be compared with the IPL. Even in the last PSL, we saw 200-plus scored, also 250’s. As far as I know, in international cricket, 160, 170, 180… are average scores, if any team scores 200 runs, it should be considered a very good score. However, it's rarely seen,” said Shanto in the press conference.

“I think in the upcoming World Cup, there will be scores between 160 to 180 on a good wicket. We have to chase and defend such scores in the tournament. I don't think it's logical to compare International cricket with the IPL,” he said.

Shanto was content with their T20I series win 4-1 against Zimbabwe and believes they ticked all the boxes during their preparatory series before the World Cup.

“It was a very good series. When the team wins, it boosts our confidence. I was satisfied with the way we executed all experiments we did and also won close matches. In one match, the top order has given a very good start. Today, the middle order got the opportunity to bat. Rishad bowled well throughout the series. There are many positive aspects. We have been able to get close to our expectations,”

"We have won several close matches that we needed. In the upcoming tournament, we have to face such kind situations. The experience of winning close matches will be useful in the future," he added.
