Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan has been roped by Jamaica Tallawahs for this year Caribbean Premier League (CPL). However, Shakib is unlikely to get no-objection certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board as Bangladesh is expected to have a tight schedule during the CPL.
The forthcoming tournament is set to begin from August 28. At that time, Bangladesh will be busy on the international schedule. According to the schedule, they will host Australia, England and New Zealand for short-format cricket.
According to BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan, who stated in an interview with Cricbuzz that though no decision has been made, they expect to have a full strength team for those matches.
"We have not taken any decision about it (NOC for CPL). When the time comes we can take a decision in this regard," he said. "We certainly want to play against them with our full strength squad," said Akram.
Bangladesh will play a five-match T20I series against Australia in August. Then the New Zealand team will visit Bangladesh to play the same format, then the England team will come to play ODI and T20 at the end of September.
Shakib returned to Jamaica Tallawahs, a franchise he represented in 2016 and 2017 where he won the title in his maiden stint.
