Litton had been signed by Galle Gladiators and was granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the entire tournament.
He was also left out of Bangladesh's T20I squad for the ongoing Zimbabwe tour to participate in the franchise league.
In Litton's absence, Towhid Hridoy has been appointed Bangladesh's captain for the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
The 2026 LPL is scheduled to begin on July 17. While Litton will miss the tournament, Taskin Ahmed, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shakib Al Hasan, and Hasan Mahmud have all received NOCs from the BCB to participate.
Taskin and Shakib will represent Jaffna, Miraz will play for Galle Gladiators, while Hasan Mahmud has been signed by Colombo Caps.
