The proposal was discussed after the BCCI’s 95th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai, where the board’s general body initiated the process of planning a year-long programme to mark 100 years of Indian cricket administration.
The celebrations are scheduled to begin in December 2027 and continue throughout 2028.
According to a report in The New Indian Express, the BCCI is expected to form a committee to oversee the centenary celebrations. Among the ideas discussed is a special exhibition match featuring India against a Rest of the World XI.
However, the proposal remains at an early stage, and no final decision has been made regarding the match or its format.
