The Bangladesh fast bowler claimed seven wickets across two innings against Derbyshire in his latest outing, further underlining his impact.
Hasan has taken 26 wickets in eight innings across four County Championship matches for Kent this season, including a five-wicket haul.
His performances have also helped create a positive impression of Bangladeshi cricketers in county cricket, with fellow Bangladesh pacer Khaled Ahmed also making his Kent debut.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operations chief Shahriar Nafees credited Hasan’s success to his hard work and dedication.
“First of all, all the credit goes to the players. Our players are improving the standard of their game day by day. This is the result of their hard work and dedication. As the Bangladesh Cricket Board, we are only trying to provide them with the opportunity to play,” Nafees said.
Praising Hasan’s performances, Nafees said, “Hasan has performed exceptionally well. In county cricket, he can be called Kent’s ‘poster boy’. Whenever a Bangladeshi player performs well on the international stage, whether in franchise or international cricket, we feel proud as Bangladeshis.”
He added that such performances could enhance Bangladesh cricket’s global image and increase demand for its players.
Bangladeshi cricketers are also attracting interest from leagues around the world. While the BCB is keen to provide players with opportunities to improve their skills, Nafees said NOCs would be assessed by keeping the national team’s requirements and players’ fitness in mind.
“So far this year, we have issued 29 NOCs. This proves that the Bangladesh Cricket Board is keen to create opportunities for players while ensuring that the Bangladesh team’s performance is not affected,” he said.
Nafees also highlighted Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s recent performances in the Caribbean Premier League, where he has taken seven wickets in two matches.
“We have heard a lot of criticism of Mehidy Hasan Miraz at different times, but one thing we have seen is that he is mentally very strong and has always bounced back through his performances. He is a great bowler, whether it is Test, ODI or T20 cricket, and he continues to perform. So, we are very optimistic,” Nafees said.
