Hasan, who has emerged as one of Kent's key bowlers during his county stint, claimed four wickets for just 30 runs, while Khaled enjoyed a memorable debut for the club with three wickets. Their combined efforts helped bowl Derbyshire out for 300 in the first innings.
Following Bangladesh's historic success in Australia, Hasan believes the continued performances of the country's fast bowlers in English conditions make the achievement even more significant for Bangladesh cricket.
Explaining his approach on an unfamiliar Derbyshire pitch, Hasan told Kent Cricket's official website that his focus was on maintaining a disciplined line and length.
“On a new wicket, my plan was to focus on bowling a good length and conceding as few runs as possible.”
Hasan executed that plan brilliantly, producing a tight spell of nearly 16 overs to finish with four crucial wickets. Khaled provided excellent support at the other end, making an immediate impact in his first appearance for Kent by taking three wickets.
Hasan was particularly delighted to have his Bangladesh teammate alongside him in Kent's bowling attack.
“Of course, it feels good to have Khaled as my bowling partner. I'm very happy for him. He took three wickets in his very first match for Kent. Hopefully, he will do well in the second innings as well.”
Hasan said the sight of two Bangladeshi fast bowlers representing the same county side has also brought joy to cricket fans back home.
“People in Bangladesh are also very happy that two of us are playing for Kent. Especially after what happened in Australia, this makes it even more special for us.”
