No Bangladeshi franchise will feature in the upcoming edition of the Global Super League (GSL), as organisers have not invited any team from the country.

In the first two editions, Bangladesh was represented by Rangpur Riders.

This time, Rajshahi Warriors, who won the latest Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) title earlier this year had expressed interest in participating but were overlooked.

Rajshahi had even communicated their willingness to take part through the Bangladesh Cricket Board, aiming to represent Bangladesh on the global stage. However, the Guyana-based tournament did not include any Bangladeshi side in its lineup.

The new season of the GSL is set to begin on July 23, with five franchises already confirmed. South Africa’s Sunrisers Eastern Cape were invited but declined to participate.

Teams confirmed for the tournament include Lahore Qalandars from the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Perth Scorchers from Australia’s Big Bash League, Desert Vipers from the UAE’s ILT20, San Francisco Unicorns from the USA, along with hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Bangladesh players Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon could still feature in the tournament if they receive NOCs, as both are currently associated with Lahore Qalandars.
