Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi have won the toss and elected to bowl first against Hyderabad Kingsmen at a new venue in Karachi, with the skipper citing the dew factor and uncertainty around conditions as key reasons behind the decision.

Speaking after the toss, Babar said the surface looked “different” and stressed the importance of reading conditions quickly on the night. He also revealed that Zalmi have made two changes, with Nahid Rana coming in for his PSL debut and Iftikhar Ahmed returning to the side.

It is a notable night for Bangladeshi fans too, as Nahid becomes one of the latest Bangladesh pacers to feature in the tournament, while fellow left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam is also included in the XI, giving Zalmi extra variety and pace in their attack.

For Hyderabad Kingsmen, captain Marnus Labuschagne said his side is treating this game as a “fresh start” after a break, adding that their powerful batting unit must once again play with freedom after showing its firepower in the previous match.
