The award will be presented at Cricket Tasmania’s annual ceremony on April 1, where players across different levels will be honoured for their performances throughout the season.
Rishad made an immediate impact in his debut Big Bash League campaign, emerging as a standout performer for the Hobart Hurricanes. He finished the tournament with 15 wickets, the most by any Hurricanes bowler this season.
The leg-spinner played a key role throughout the campaign, often being used early in the innings and in the middle overs to apply pressure on opposition batters. His best figures of the season came against the Adelaide Strikers, when he claimed 3 for 26.
Rishad is joined on the shortlist by Nikhil Chaudhary, Nathan Ellis, and Chris Jordan, who have also been recognised for their contributions with bat and ball.
The winners will be announced via social media during the awards event, with Rishad’s nomination standing out as a significant achievement in his very first Big Bash season.
