Although voting began at 10:00 a.m., voter turnout remained relatively low during the early stages of the election. The first vote was cast nearly 45 minutes after polling officially opened.
Representing Old DOHS Sports Club as a councillor, Tamim exercised his voting rights at 11:35 a.m. Former Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain also cast his vote around the same time as a Category-1 voter.
The club-category contest has emerged as the most closely watched aspect of this year's BCB election. A total of eight directors have already been elected unopposed, including seven from Category-1 and one from Category-3.
The main battle, however, is taking place in Category-2, which represents the clubs.
Sixteen candidates are contesting for 12 director positions in the category. Among the candidates are Tamim and Abahani Limited representative Fahim Sinha, along with several other well-known figures from the country's cricket administration.
