The update was confirmed by the BCB media committee chairman while speaking to the press after a long board meeting, indicating that the board wants continuity in leadership as Bangladesh prepare for the next 50-over World Cup.
Among the key developments, Miraz is set to continue in a leadership role through 2027, while the board also wants Shanto and Litton (until 2028 World Cup) to remain in the captaincy equation over the same cycle.
The board is also set to bring in former Bangladesh spinner Mohammad Rafique as spin bowling coach, adding local experience to the team’s support structure.
In another significant move, the BCB is also preparing to launch a new BCB Award Night, aimed at recognising standout performers and contributors in Bangladesh cricket.
