Shortly after assuming office, he called the BCB Chief Executive Officer during a press conference and directed that media access to the ground be restored.
“From today, there will be no restrictions on journalists regarding entry to the BCB,” said Aminul.
"Journalists are the lifeblood of sports. I am instructing the CEO accordingly. You will go to the Cricket Board and carry out your work; there will be no obstacles here.”
On January 31, the Bangladesh Cricket Board imposed new restrictions limiting journalists’ entry to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
In a press release, the board stated that media personnel would not be allowed to enter the stadium premises except during designated BCB events.
The BCB also said that journalists would be required to follow specific guidelines applicable to all individuals entering the stadium complex, including media representatives. Gate-1 would remain open for journalists, as before.
Under the previous directive, journalists were allowed entry only on specific occasions such as match days, official press conferences, events organized upon formal invitation by the BCB, and designated practice or training sessions announced by the board.
The BCB had stated that the measures were introduced to ensure security, maintain discipline, and facilitate the smooth functioning of the venue and board offices.
