England fast bowler Ollie Robinson was hit for 43 runs in the most expensive over in the history of the County Championship.

Robinson, who has played 20 Tests for England since his debut in 2021, was hit for 43 runs in nine deliveries to finish his over.

Robinson was struck for five sixes, three of which were off no-balls, along with three fours and a single by Leicestershire's Louis Kimber during the fourth and final day of their Division Two match on Wednesday.

This unwanted record of Robinson thus also reset the record for most runs conceded by an English bowler, surpassing former Test pacer Alex Tudor’s 38-run over, in which 34 were scored by Andrew Flintoff in a Surrey versus Lancashire contest in 1998.

Most runs conceded off an over

Robert Vance - 77 runs - Wellington vs Canterbury (1989-90)
Olllie Robinson - 43 runs - Sussex vs Leicestershire (2024)
Alex Tudor - 38 runs - Surrey vs Lancashire (1998)
Shoaib Bashir - 38 runs - Worcestershire vs Surrey (2024)
Malcolm Nash - 36 runs - Glamorgan vs Nottinghamshire (1968)
Tilak Raj - 36 runs - Baroda vs Bombay (1984-85)
