West Indies legendary cricketer Curtly Ambrose believes that Bangladesh has a good chance of making it to the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup.

The Tigers qualified for the Super-8 by securing three wins in the group stage beating bitter rival Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal. Ambrose claimed that Bangladesh pacers can do even better in West Indies’ condition coupled with their fine touch in the ongoing tournament.

“Although I have not seen many matches. What I can say is that Bangladesh pace bowlers or the team can enjoy the Super Eight very well playing in the West Indies because it is a great place for pace bowlers. Naturally, the wickets here are mostly favourable for the pacers,” said Ambrose to the media.

About the possibility of Bangladesh playing in the semi-finals, he said, 'Of course (Bangladesh has a chance to go to the semi-finals). All teams have equal chances to advance to the semi-finals. Only four teams will go to the semi-finals but all have a chance. As I said anyone can beat anyone. This is T20 cricket,"

The former Caribbean pacer was elated to see the small team's performance in the World Cup which is why Ambrose believes that the T20 World Cup has been fantastic.

"This is something that I said at the beginning of the tournament or even before the tournament. I know why I thought we could see quite a few upsets. My words came true. We don't want tournaments where big teams play and win. Small groups mean what we call associate nation, it's good to see them fight. It's good for a tournament itself," he added.
