Papon: No major changes expected in batting order

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon stated that there are limited options to bring changes in the batting order during the T20 World Cup.
The board president reckoned that the team would play three pacers and one spinner, and if the team management had seven batters, they would include four bowlers in the XI.
“I don't see any opportunity to change the batting order. I don't know how it will happen. Among the top three, two of the batsmen will open. But I can't say who are they. The three pacers will bowl. The possibility of a change in between seems very slim. As a cricket supporter, I hope Bangladesh wins all the matches and as a BCB president, I hope they perform well,” said Papon.
“There will be one spinner. I don't know if it will be Rishad or Mehedi. We'll see and decide. The rest will have three pacers. I feel like no major changes are expectedin between,” he said.
However, national team head coach Chandika Hathurusingha stated they would experiment by changing the batting order during the tournament, “Yes, the batting order will change in T20 cricket. It's a common thing in cricket,”
During the ODI World Cup 2023, there were a number of changes in the playing XI, which created difficulties for the batters to adapt to the changes. Captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto also acknowledged the effect of instability in the batting order after the tournament.
