Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto hailed the bowling prowess of the team and admitted they were not able to take the game to the end.
Bangladesh suffered a 17-run defeat against New Zealand in the third T20I crushing all hopes and dreams to claim first series win in an away series.
Defending a mediocre target, the bowlers Shoriful Islam and Mahedi Hasan gave a tough challenge to the Kiwis as they picked up two wickets each to reduce the Blackcaps to 49-5.
However, the captain rued over the performance of the batters and admitted they could not get big partnerships which cost them the match.
“Our bowlers did a great job but the batters did not get runs today. All the bowlers bowled really well. In T20s, the start is very important. We got starts today but we could not take the game deep - that is the mistake we made,” said Shanto.
Pacer Shoriful was adjudged as the player of the series for his brilliant show with the ball.
