Bangladesh opening batter Tamim Iqbal was disappointed that his side was unable to put up a good total against the West Indies in the first innings.
Tamim bemoaned the fact that, despite a strong start, the middle of the innings collapsed. Tamim noted that they were short of a big total after being bowled out for 234 runs.

"I think the wicket was up and down but we should've batted better. If we had scored 300 to 320, it would have been a better score cause wicket was a little up and down. Even in bowling if we had given away 25 to 30 runs less then it would have been better," Tamim said.
Tamim was also dissatisfied with his own performances, "Normally when you get a start such as this, my innings usually get bigger. It's unfortunate. I thought I could've left that delivery alone but the ball rose more than it was supposed to which is why it hit the sticker of my bat,"
"I am not someone who will come here with excuses. I think when I am getting starts as a senior member of the team, I should make it big. There are no excuses," he said.
