Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI put up a poor bowling to ruin their hope to move in to the final of Dr. (capt) K. Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, known as Mini Ranji Trophy as they tasted a seven-wicket loss to Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh in the semifinal game at Alur-1 (Platinum Oval) Ground on Wednesday.

Set a 228-run target to win the match, Chhattisgarh comfortably gunned down the target on the final and fourth day, making 231-3 in 53.5 overs.

Amandeep Khare led the comprehensive victory with 92 ball-86 not out, smashing eight fours and two sixes.

Opener and captain of the side Jivanjot Singh made 50 and added 96-run with Rishab Tiwari for the opening stand to lay a solid platform in a pitch where bounce and turn was aplenty.

But the Bangladeshi spin department, which got weakened after the departure of Taijul Islam who joined national team in Sri Lanka, couldn’t capitalize on.

Rishad Tiwari made 39 and was the first to be dismissed after part-time spinner Mominul Haque got the better of him.

Another part time spinner Nazmul Hossain Shanto then dismissed Jivanjot before Ebadat Hossain removed Avnish Singh Dahliwal for 19.

Amandeep however got support in Shashank who made 25 not out to sail the side home without any fuss.

The BCB XI lost the match despite taking a 77-run first innings lead but they batted poorly in the second innings to dig their own graveyards.

BCB XI piled up 334 in its first innings before they wrapped up Chhattisgarh for 257.

Chhattisgarh came back strongly, dismissing BCB XI for 150 runs in the second innings thanks to their spinners’ superb bowling and thereby got a target of 228 and easily overhauled it.

Chhattisgarh now takes on Andhra Cricket Association in the final of the tournament, beginning from August 3. Andhra beat Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) by 28 runs in another semifinal game.
