Bangladesh will fancy their chances, if it’s 300-320 runs: Zaheer Khan

Former Indian left arm pacer Zaheer Khan believes if Bangladesh can restrict India to 300-320 runs mark, they will the fancy their chance to win. Bangladesh has scored over 300 runs three times in this World Cup against South Africa, West Indies and Australia. Batsmen are also in good form for Bangladesh, with Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim amongst the top run getters of this World Cup. That’s why, Zaheer believes 300-320 run mark wouldn’t be safe margin for India.
“If it’s around 300-320 mark, Bangladesh will fancy their chances for sure, “ Zaheer said in a pre-match show.
As the match will be played in the same wicket in which India and England played, Zaheer believes this used wicket will give Bangladesh an advantage. Bangladesh prefers to play in slow turning wicket where spinners (Shakib and Mehidy) will get some turn. Slow wicket also helps Mustafizur Rahman to bowl his cutters which has bamboozled batsmen all over the World. Zaheer believes Bangladesh bowlers will be smart against India and will try to restrict India in that 300-320 mark.
“Bangladesh will be happy that it will be a used wicket tomorrow. That will certainly bring in spinners into play for sure, which Bangladesh like. They like even for seam bowlers to bowl those cutters and slower ones into the wicket. They have Fizz (Mustafiz) who have been effective with his cutters, so I think from bowling side they will be smart. They will try to restrict opposition in that 300 mark. They will not try to be fancy, but they will be smart, “ Zaheer added.
