South African fulfills his dream

It is actually quite difficult to find another player that
became the top ranked bowler in Tests after just 24 caps under his belt. In our
time, Kagiso Rabada did it when he jumped over James Anderson
to become the number 1 bowler in Tests after helping his team beat India.
For Rabada, it was a dream come true. While he admits that
it was what he craved for all along, there is always space for improvement—that
striving for the best is what he desires to do all the time.
"It's what I always wanted to do (reaching No.1). Now,
I just want to keep performing and winning games for the team and to keep
getting better and better," Rabada was quoted saying on Cricinfo.

"There's always something you can improve on. Once you
get something right, there's always something new that you can work on.
"I just need to just do more and more, striving for perfection. You are never going to reach perfection but at least [try to] get there and thereabouts."
With the plethora of pacers in the South African team, Rabada
has found it difficult to get the chance to bowl with the new ball. While he
hopes to bowl with the new ball, he also realizes that he might not get the
chance to and is completely happy with bowling wherever the team wants him to.
"I just bowl
wherever the team wants me to bowl. I would like to open. It's a bit tough at
the moment because there's two very good bowlers in those roles," he said.
"I just like to bowl wherever the team requires me to and set my own
aspirations aside. I am really happy with the roles I have been given, just to
try and get wickets and defend at the same time, that's important."
After making a comeback to cricket in over a year, Dale
Steyn has once again been hit with the train of reality as he injured himself
in the game against India and is out for another 6 weeks. Rabada, meanwhile,
hopes that the veteran pacer would make a comeback as he wants to bowl
with him once again.
"Unfortunately Dale is out of the attack now. It would
have been an extra bonus over the summer but I am glad that I have bowled with
him and I will hopefully bowl with him again in the future," Rabada said.
"Our bowling attack is very skilled as you've seen in the past and in the
last game. It feels great to be playing alongside these veterans."
