Glenn Maxwell shunned once again

After Chris Lynn dropped out of the ODI series against
England, there was a glimmer of hope for Glenn Maxwell to make it to the team
once again. Indeed, Ricky Ponting gave a glowing endorsement for the King XI Punjab
player.
It was not only the former captain who backed him as Aaron Finch also hyped his compatriot for a place
in the final squad against England as a replacement for Chris Lynn. However, it
seems as though all of it has gone in vain as the Australian selectors have
chosen the in-form Cameron White to replace Lynn.
White has been in stunning form in the domestic circuit ever
since he played his last ODI game 3 years ago. The Australian had been critical
of the selection policy of the Australian selectors previously, accusing them of preferring
youth over form.
However, they have finally considered form over age as White
is in line to play first ODI game since 2015.

Chairman of selectors, Trevor Hohns, spoke about the choice
of White, claiming that he powered his way back into squad with his brilliant
form. The fact that he is the leading scorer in the Big Bash was a reason for his selection.
“He's in very good form as his figures demonstrate, he's
playing very well," Hohns said. "He's one of the leading run-scorers
in the BBL, he's experienced, he's a very smart cricketer and he's a good
fielder. He ticks all the boxes for what we need at this stage."
The ODI series between Australia and England begins from the 14th of this month and the Kangaroos will be looking to inflict further misery on the visitors after a 4-0 routing of England in the Ashes
