CPL keen to avoid clash with IPL

Caribbean Premier League officials said that they will try to avoid clash with Indian Premier League despite there is the possibility that the CPL fixtures could be among the first staged globally with the Caribbean in lockdown and attempts to stop the spread of covid-19 proving successful so far - the death toll is yet to reach double figures in any of the six countries that host CPL games.
There is a large possibility of IPL being shifted into September or October which is currently postponed for indefinite period then that would cost CPL and in that case fix any other schedule in that case for avoiding the collision as the IPL is the most lucrative tournament in the world.
"We wouldn't go up against it IPL,’’ CPL’s chief operations officer Pete Russell was quoted in a cricket website.
"While I know the BCCI is all-powerful in these things, there has to be some sensible consideration around what players and other leagues are doing.
"I think IPL would want all the West Indian players to be playing in their tournament - it wouldn't make sense for them to play at the same time as CPL when a lot of their stars are playing with us. That would defeat the objective. I don't think they need to do that, either. They can figure out their own window, for sure."
The organizer of CPL's are also planning to hold the tournament maintaining social distancing within a stadium, in this case, the tournament will be played in one or two venues instead of six and the players will be staying in the same hotels as well.
