Two veterans return as Zimbabwe name squad for Bangladesh Tests

Zimbabwe name squad for Bangladesh Tests

Both senior players were absent from Zimbabwe’s last Test outing against Ireland in February — Williams due to a back injury and captain Ervine because of a last-minute personal emergency.
Zimbabwe's selectors have made three changes from the squad initially chosen for the Ireland Test.
Wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga makes a comeback two years after his debut against the West Indies, replacing Joylord Gumbie. Spinner Wellington Masakadza, who last played Test cricket during the same series in the Caribbean, has been included in place of Newman Nyamhuri.

Top-order batter Takudzwanashe Kaitano has been left out, with Wessly Madhevere keeping his place after being a late addition for the Ireland match when Ervine withdrew.
The two Tests are scheduled to take place in Sylhet (April 20–24) and Chattogram (April 28–May 2). This will be Zimbabwe’s first Test series in Bangladesh since February 2020, when the home side won a one-off match in Dhaka by an innings and 106 runs.
