Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Murtaza will sit with the selector on Saturday to discuss the team combination for the upcoming three-match ODI's against Zimbabwe.
The inspirational leader was announced as the Bangladesh captain for the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe.

Regarding the retirement of their ODI captain, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced that Mashrafe Mortaza will be replaced as a leader at the end of Bangladesh’s upcoming three-match series against Zimbabwe.

Speculation around Mortaza’s future has been abounding since last year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. And though Mortaza declared earlier this year that he will continue playing for as long as he enjoys the game, it hardly served to quell talks around what has increasingly seemed like an imminent retirement.

Now, Nazmul Hassan, the BCB president, has declared that not only will Mortaza no longer lead the side after the Zimbabwe series, but he will also have to earn his place in it by proving his form and fitness. "We have started to stress on beep tests, so Mashrafe may not pass the beep tests, so we can drop him if he doesn't pass it," Hassan said.

"We also have to keep it in mind that Mashrafe's leadership was vital in the turnaround in Bangladesh cricket. But, the time has come for him to decide how long he wants to play.
Mashrafee was expected to meet selection panel to discuss the team but the latter failed to arrive on time that prompted the ODI team leader to leave the field with an angry face after waiting for over half an hour.

He arrived in the national dressing room and stayed there for quite some time watching his teammates prepare for the lone Test against Zimbabwe. A BCB official said that Bangladesh will also have a camp simultaneously with the Test series where cricketers who are selected for the ODI’s will be training for the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, beginning on March 1.
