Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah blamed his fielding unit for lackluster performance against Pakistan adding that it could have been a different story if they had hold on to their chances.
Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 1-0 margin to take a 1-0 lead in the series as they raced to 142-5 in 19.3 overs after restricting the opponent to 141-5.

Pakistan could have find it harder if the tourist fielding unit could come up with a better showdown as they failed to do the basics in the field.
While they failed to hold catches they were also unable to stop the boundaries that could have made a difference in the game considering the wicket was slow and it was hard to score in it.
‘’The fact that we fought until the last ball with this sort of total onboard should bring in confidence for our bowlers. Though bowlers bowled well, we gave away quite a few easy boundaries. Especially in the leg side we gave away some six-seven easy boundaries. If we could have done things differently in that regard along with the fielding, things might have panned out differently,” Mahmudullah told reporters at the post-match at Lahore on Friday.
“We also let ourselves down in the fielding department. We missed a few chances, dropped a few catches and let go of a couple of run out chances,” he said.
“If you look at our field-setting, sometimes it was attacking and sometimes we held up a bit. This is due to the nature of the format which mandates flexibility in strategy. But in the end, I feel we were 10-15 runs shorts which forced us to not attack as much as we liked to. These are the things we need to find out, sit-together and look into,” he concluded.
