BCB president hints who will be the new T20 captain

Litton Das has emerged as the frontrunner for new T20 captain

Although Shanto is willing to continue leading the Test and ODI teams, the BCB is looking for a long-term captain in T20 cricket. Speaking to reporters at Mirpur on Saturday, BCB President Faruque Ahmed addressed the captaincy issue.

"We will make a decision soon. Some players have already led the T20 team and are still part of the squad. We will try to select a captain from among them," said Faruque.
The BCB President's statement strongly suggests that Litton Das could be the next T20 captain. After Shakib Al Hasan stepped down, Shanto took over the T20 captaincy.

However, in his absence, Litton led the team successfully during the West Indies tour, earning praise for his leadership. As a result, his name is now at the top of the BCB’s plans for the future.

The BCB President was also questioned about the team's restructuring. With Mushfiqur Rahim retiring from ODIs, discussions around the future of Mahmudullah Riyad continue. When asked if the team would undergo major changes, Faruk Ahmed responded:
"We will work on building a strong team. A structured plan will be created for the players, which they will follow. When I was a selector during the 2007 World Cup, players like Tamim, Shakib, and Mushfiqur emerged. The board will set a policy and decide how we want to take Bangladesh cricket forward in collaboration with the cricket operations team."
