Bangladesh women’s captain Nigar Sultana Joty expressed disappointment over the recent loss against six-time champions Australia.

The Tigresses had a successful run last year with wins against Pakistan and India at home, as well as a historic victory against South Africa earlier this year.
However, they suffered a complete whitewash 3-0 in the ODI series against Australia in their first bilateral series.

Australia skittled out Bangladesh for just 89 runs in 26.2 overs after opting to field first in the notorious wicket of Mipur. The visitors chased down the target handing an eight-wicket hammering of the visitors.

After the match, Nigar stated that she was surprised with the performance of the whole team but she is not doubting the player's skill rather team's mindset.

“Not even 10 percent. I am totally surprised. The way we have played cricket in the last 6 months, it was not like that at all. The whole team failed. The whole team played a different kind of cricket. It seems that we all are on the back foot, we could not even give 10% of our ability,” said Nigar.

“I think it's a mental thing. There is no question regarding the skill. If there was, then he would not have won the matches earlier,” she added.
