‘Dropped’ Litton flops in Abahani’s third win

In today's match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Shinepukur Cricket Club has suffered a defeat by 7 wickets against Abahani Limited. This is the third win for the team led by Mosaddek Hossain in the league.
Sabbir Hossen and Naim Sheikh started the batting aggressively with the aim of 170 runs. Sabbir, who missed out a century for only two runs in the previous match, couldn't play a big innings today. He scored 15 runs off 11 balls with 1 boundary and 1 six.
Litton Das, who joined Abahani after being dropped from the national team, couldn't do much as he was bowled by Arafat Sunny after scoring just 5 runs off 19 balls.
Despite the early departure of both openers, Naim played a brilliant innings. Adjusting to the low target, he played cautiously as an opener. He completed his fifty in 71 balls before being caught by Mehrob Hasan off Mohammad Elias' bowling, he scored 66 runs off 87 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes.
After Naim's departure, Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Afif Hossain took charge. Joy played an unbeaten innings of 51 runs off 59 balls, while Afif remained not out with 25 runs off 30 balls.
Arafat Sunny took two wickets for Shinepukur, while Mohammad Elias took one wicket.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Shinepukur, batting first, could only manage to score 169 runs. The batters of the team, which lost the last match against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, struggled against Abahani's bowlers, especially Khalid Ahmed and Afif.
Captain Akbar Ali and Mehrob’s fifty partnership helped the team reach 169 runs. Akbar scored 55 runs off 44 balls with 6 boundaries and 3 sixes, while Mehrob remained unbeaten with 50 runs.
Abahani’s Khalid and Afif took three wickets each, while Mohammad Saifuddin, Tanvir Islam, and Rakibul Islam took one wicket each.
